The Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim has passed Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, and also Warren Buffet, the founder of Berkshire Hathaway , and became the richest man in the world in 2010, according to Forbes’ ranking.

The number of billionaires in the world increased from last year’s 793 to 1,011, but the number is still smaller than 2008’s 1,125.

Also according to Forbes, “today, the billionaires in the world have an average of US$ 3.5 billion”, an increase of US$ 500 million from 2009.

Forbes’ ranking includes 97 people who were included on the list for the first time, including 62 from Asia.
